lol he fucking lied simple as that no room for manoeuvre, Hello games are a bunch of cunts and should not be allowed to continue, by gamer's voting with their wallet! listening to all that from Mode7 is amazing really. No different to a news channel backing a certain politician really, just flat out full of shit to be honest.

Sean is the public relations dude who was marketing an up and coming product, he is not no fucking visionary designed to spark ideas and illusions as the video suggests.

Question - Can you bump into another player in the universe?

Sean Murry - YES but it would be highly unlikely due to the vastness of the universe.

No you are full of shit Sean Murry and you know it!

I could appreciate a slight exaggeration on minor content issues but the issue of Single player vs Multiplayer is fucking massive! SOOOOOO Huge will have a massive impact of sales!

he even said why would they lie! errrr Box Sales Box Sales Box Sales and Money Money Money!

nice find though @Gravedom that was a rant at the video and not you :-)

The latest patch notes for PC and Playstation have finally been released for No Man's Sky giving hope to a lot of users. Hello Games have really gone "radio silent" since the release which is, in my opinion, quite shocking.

PC Patch Notes:

Patch 1.09

 • The game is now much more robust at recovering corrupted save files.
 • It was possible for players to circumnavigate obtaining the Antimatter blueprint using very specific steps, leaving some players stranded in their second system. This is no longer possible.
 • PC and PS4 galaxy generation more robust during compiling.
 • Exosuit messaging system no longer confuses “on planet” and “docked in station” visor notifications, removing all doubt as to the location of the player’s Starship.
 • Improved framerate when scanning colossal structures such as Space Stations or Outposts.
 • Fix for some terrain resources being indestructible and therefore unmineable.
 • Exosuit messaging system now able to correctly differentiate between resource types. Deposits discovered by scans will now display as the correct element.
 • Gek Factory door manufacturing standards have been improved; they no longer take critical hits from Grenades.
 • Drone vandalism detection improved. Wanted level now increases when destroying Factory doors however powerful the players Multitool may be.
 • Pulsedrive systems now fully offline during warping.
 • Players are no longer able to open crates of any type if their inventory is full, no matter the contents, preventing loss of resources.
 • When interacting with a Terminal, it will print out the players Journey progression. Some strings in this print out where cut-off in Asian languages, these now display correctly in all supported languages.
 • Fixed an occasional bug within the Exosuit system that caused controller prompts to display the wrong button.
 • Changes to player Standing with the Gek, Vy’keen and Korvax now display correctly within the stats menu.
 • Fix for loss of resources when transferring fully stacked items between the player’s Starship and Exosuit in a specific order.
 • Fix for stacking products exploit. Resources salvaged from dismantled technologies now fill inventory slots as expected.
 • Exosuit and Starship messaging system now always displays the correct number of collected resources.
 • Discovery menu improvements, including fixes for incorrectly displayed planet names and creatures displaying as their molecular structure.
 • Discovery menu now supports planets with an abundance of life. Specifically, planets featuring 15 creature types can now reach 100% completion.
 • Multitool Beam Coolant and Exosuit Aeration Membrane upgrades now increase their respective stat wheels as expected.
 • The player can no longer buy multiple products when they do not have enough slots to do so, preventing loss of both the unit cost and the extra products.
 • Japanese localization fixes. Including: scrolling text issues, overlapping prompts in the ship messaging system and Multitool names displaying incorrectly.
 • Fixed clipped text on save game restore buttons in all supported languages.
 • Fixed errant title bar on the menu screen.
 • Player Standing now updates in real time when interacting with members of the Gek, Vy’keen and Korvax races.
 • Minor fix for saves of a duration less than 2 minutes displaying as “1 minutes”.
 • Improvements to various settings within the options menu, including advancements in mouse smoothing and refined gamma settings allowing for increased tenebrosity.
 • Fix for creature generation crash.
 • Fixes to prevent FPS spikes when encountering momentary performance bumps on PS4.
 • Fixed a rare issue where pressing and holding a button would cause the game to crash under specific circumstances.
 • Creature footfall now audibly echos within caves.
 • Fix for perpetual day time if the player updated in a specific order.
 • Bump shader version numbers for patch 1.09
 • Fix for a rare situation where a player’s save could get stuck in a crash loop due to saving at very specific point in planet generation.
 • Improved detection of available PC CPU cores and optimised settings for low-end CPUs with few CPU cores.

The Advertising Standards Agency have confirmed they are investigating Hello Games and the No Man's Sky store page on Steam.

From the express.co.uk:

Sean Murray's Hello Games studio is being investigated by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

Several customers are said to have complained to the ASA about the promotional material for the PS4 and PC game.

The No Man's Sky Steam Store page has come under fire for using screenshots that aren't representative of the final release.

According to Eurogamer, the ASA can force Hello Games to withdraw misleading adverts and can potentially even get internet search engines to remove paid-for ads.

Reddit user AzzerUK said that the ASA has asked both Valve and Hello Games to respond to the following issues:

 • User interface design
 • Ship flying behaviour (in formation; with a ‘wingman’; flying close to the ground)
 • Behaviour of animals (in herds; destroying scenery; in water; reacting to surroundings)
 • Large-scale space combat
 • Structures and buildings as pictured
 • Flowing water
 • Speed of galaxy warp/loading time
 • Aiming systems

 • Size of creatures (9)
 • Behaviour of ships and sentinels (4, 5 and 8)
 • Structures and buildings as pictured (3)

Store Page in general:

 • Quality of graphics
 • References to: lack of loading screens, trade convoys between stars, factions vying over territory

Reddit user AzzerUK: Official ASA Response - Valve and Hello Games have now been asked to defend, or remove, the store page trailers and screenshots • /r/NoMansSkyTheGame - https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/54n5yz/official_asa_response_valve_and_hello_games_have/

Are Sony blocking support access to those who requested a refund for No Man's Sky? According to this article they are:

From itechpost.com: No Man's Sky promoter Sony seems to be holding a grudge against those PS4 players who dared to ask for a refund from them. Many customers who bought the game complained that they were fooled by its advertisements.

No Man's Sky Disappoints Players

No Man's Sky showed much promise when it was first announced. Customers snapped up the game moments after its release. However, many complained that the game failed to deliver what it promised earlier. The disappointment was so great that large number of disgruntled customers were asking for a refund.

Sony's Refund Policy on No Man's Sky

Sony is one of the promoters of No Man's Sky and one of its main vendors especially for PS4 players. Normally, the Japanese gaming company does not entertained refunds. However, the huge number of refund request surprised Sony that it was forced to treat it as a "special case".

Sony Blocks No Man's Sky Refund Seekers From PSN

No Man's Sky PS4 customers who had asked for a refund were surprised to find out that their PlayStation Network PSN ID can no longer access the network's support. Blocked PS4 players could not even complained to Sony about this since they could not even use their PSN ID to contact or talk to someone in the PSN support or admin, according to fraghero.

Many vented their anger and frustration in various social forums such as NeoGAF. Some resorted to using alternative PSN accounts in order to gain access to the chat room and report their situation.

That seems like an oddly stupid and even emotional decision for a business to make if true. Refunding is good PR, long term business = good. Throwing a hissy fit and kicking legitimately miffed customers out of your club is bad PR, long term business = bad.

Unless they think they are so good this won't impact them negatively at all, also bad when a company thinks it is untouchable and can do what it wants.

No Man's Sky Foundation Update has now been released:

From Hello Games:

Today we’re very excited to bring you the Foundation Update (Update 1.1).

We’d recommend you check out our full Patch Notes - but here’s a summary of what you’ll come across in this update.

First of all we’ve introduced three game modes. Normal mode is the original, chilled exploration experience you’re used to. Creative mode allows players to explore the infinite universe without limits, while also allowing them to craft to their heart’s content without any resource requirements. Survival mode pits players against a more brutal environment where merely staying alive is a challenge in itself.

Secondly the Foundation Update brings base building to the game, giving players the opportunity to claim a home planet where they can start building and decorating their very own, fully customisable outpost. When you’re ready, recruit alien lifeforms from Space Stations and task them with researching new technologies in your base. Farming, Science, Weapons and Technology specialists are available for hire.

A new farming system also allows you to plant and grow biome specific crops either inside your base (using Hydroponic Labs) or outside in the right environment.

New equipment is also on hand to aid explorers as they continue to explore distant planets. This equipment can be deployed in the field and includes save points (essential for survival mode), waypoints (to permanently mark your position), automated mining harvesters and Signal Scanners (which can find uninhabited bases and more).

The third key update in Foundation are Freighters. These enormous ships can be found cruising through space and, upon boarding, players can speak to the Freighter's captain to purchase the ship at great expense. Freighters can be summoned at will by explorers, and come with huge expandable cargo holds which are ideal for storing and transporting large quantities of valuable resources. Vessels can be customised in the base building section, allowing role specialisation.

There are a number of other improvements worth noting, including stackable products, a new intelligent quick access menu, visual updates, new technologies and more.

As with any new update, it’s possible you’ll come across bugs or issues which we’ll aim to fix as quickly as possible. To help us understand the issues you’re experiencing, please head to our dedicated Bug Reporting Form and enter a report with as much detail as possible.

This is the first of many free updates that will build on the original No Man’s Sky. We hope you enjoy it, and look forward to hearing your feedback, ideas and suggestions.

Thank you,

Hello Games

Update 2.0, Beyond, massively expands the multiplayer experience introduced in NEXT, takes immersion to a whole new level with fully-fledged Virtual Reality, overhauls base building, NPCs, technology trees, and much, much more.

Marking the three year anniversary of No Man’s Sky, this is our largest update so far, broadening the experience across the entire game.

Our journey continues.
